Quiz Night for Risca Male Choir’s Social Society, Wednesday, April 19.
RMC Social Society continues to go from strength to strength with another splendid evening of fun, laughter and head scratching, thoroughly enjoyed by all.
This time the venue was the Tredegar Arms, Bassaleg (with thanks to Wyn Cable for great work on the booking), for a quiz, which took us on a whirlwind adventure from Brazil to the music of the Moody Blues, that would test everyone’s little grey cells to the full!
Despite a last minute drop-out by a sickly-bad Leigh Tucker (Vice-Chairman), the one and only quiz compiler and quiz master extraordinaire, a certain Clifford James (Tenor 2), bravely stepped into the breach, setting four fiendishly difficult rounds, namely Geography, Music, Sport and General Knowledge.
As you might imagine, the quiz was keenly contested with much banter, mockery and mickey taking - all in good humour of course! However, despite the best efforts of ‘Quizically Challenged’ (aka, Dave [Tenor 2], Olga, Kevin [Bass 2 ] & Maggie), ‘The Oldies’ (aka Lyndon [Bass 2], Sandra, Mike [Baritone] & Sue), and ‘Power Cable’ (aka Sue & Wyn [Tenor 2]), the runaway winners were ‘The Indecisives’ (aka Robin [Baritone], Juliet, Trevor [Bass 2], Kath & family) - although what Trevor Baker actually contributed is anyone’s guess!!
